Privacy Policy

The Circle ("we," "us") is a private, invite-only fitness community operating at circlesquaddmv.com and its member application at circlesquaddmv.com/app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you join, we collect the name you choose, a passcode (stored only as a salted cryptographic hash — we cannot read it), and an optional bio and profile photo.
- Content you share. Posts, photos, videos, kudos, and friend connections you create inside the member app.
- Invite requests. If you request an invite on the public site, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit.
- WHOOP data (optional, with your explicit consent). If you choose to connect your WHOOP account, we access your WHOOP data through the official WHOOP API using OAuth authorization that you grant. This may include recovery scores, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep data, strain, workout data, respiratory rate, blood-oxygen, skin temperature, and body measurements. We never see or store your WHOOP login credentials.
How we use information
- To operate the community: display your profile, posts, and — if you connect it — your WHOOP metrics to other signed-in members of The Circle.
- To notify you inside the app (for example, when someone gives you kudos or sends a friend request).
- To respond to invite requests.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your WHOOP data to anyone. We do not use your data for advertising. WHOOP data is used solely to display your health and fitness metrics within The Circle, and is never shared outside the member community.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with our hosting provider, Netlify, Inc. (site hosting, serverless functions, and data storage), and transmitted over HTTPS. WHOOP access tokens are stored server-side and are used only to retrieve your data from the WHOOP API. WHOOP summary data may be cached briefly (about 15 minutes) to reduce API calls.
Who can see your information
The member app is private: profiles, posts, and connected WHOOP metrics are visible only to signed-in members of The Circle. Nothing from the member app is published to the open internet.
Your choices and rights
- Disconnect WHOOP at any time from your profile. Disconnecting deletes our stored WHOOP tokens, and cached WHOOP data expires shortly after. You can also revoke access from your WHOOP app settings.
- Edit your bio and profile photo at any time.
- Delete your account and data. Email us and we will remove your profile, posts, media, and any WHOOP tokens and cached data.
Children
The Circle is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version at this address with a new effective date.
